The Commissioner for Land and Housing, Right Hon Olotu Fatai motivating the youth on entrepreneurship and skills development
As part of the developmental and transformational awareness mandate of the Rock Education Foundation, the 2019 Village Education Summit was organised. The Summit took place at Akunu-Akoko on the 28th of December 2019. The Summit brought together all the stakeholders of the community to discuss the strategies for the educational and youth development of the community.
Amongst the personalities that attended the Summit were the Reagent of Akunu Land and the State Commissioner for Land and Housing. The Summit was a launching point towards a common goal and the beginning of unity for cohesive voice and articulated force towards attaining a more comprehensive social life and better future for Akunu community. Stakeholders critically discussed and proposed a roadmap for improving the education standard of the community as well as high level strategies for empowering the youths.
As part of the Summit, was the reunion of the 1985 set of Akunu Grammar School and the Education Development Award for some of the great leaders who immeasurably contributed to the educational development of Akunu land.
